It’s Clothesline Weather!

I don’t know about you, but I am a methodical, organized sort of clothesline user. Large to small, shirts hung from the tails, socks paired together. Nice and neat. Perfect.

It’s an art form.

Not so for everyone. Some throw the socks and undies and sheets haphazardly at the line and go. The end result is the same, they argue.

Whatever your clothesline - whether it’s big enough to hold four of grandma’s quilts or a foldable one squeezed onto a tiny apartment deck - we want to see it. Load it up, take a photo and send it to info@clotheslinemedia.ca.

You could win one of our Clothesline Media t-shirts or be featured in an upcoming newsletter.

Plus you get the satisfaction of a line full of fresh laundry. What have you got to lose?

Our Logo

When we designed the Clothesline Media logo, we went to the source of founder Jayson Taylor’s storytelling fascination - his mother, Harriet Libbus.

When we designed the Clothesline Media logo, we went to the source of founder Jayson Taylor’s storytelling fascination - his mother, Harriet Libbus.

“One of my earlier memories is standing beside my mom as she hung out the laundry,” says Jayson of his childhood growing up in Cape Breton. “She would hum, chat with neighbours and share with me stories about the characters who filled our lives. It was storytelling at its most authentic.”

So we turned to Harriet when looking for inspiration for our logo and asked her to write the word Clothesline in her beautiful cursive writing.

“I always had a clothesline,” says Harriet. “I had hooked up a couple of clotheslines in the breezeway and we had two or three lines in the basement too. Jayson always helped hang out the clothes.”
— Harriet Libbus

Harriet wrote the word on white paper and had it scanned in and emailed to us. From there, we asked The Well's graphic designer Lance Hancock to bring it to life.

“Her handwriting had some lovely shapes to work with that really gave the logo a strong personality,” says Lance. “You can't get any more authentic then that.”

We think the end result speaks for itself.
